Year 3 BIM & Design project at London South Bank University

One of the great case studies of how students can take advantage of our published 3D City models samples is this Year 3 BIM & Design project by Samuel Francis, an Undergraduate Engineer at Pell Frischmann, working on a project at LSBU Apprenticeships.

His team was tasked with strategically and creatively maximising public space in the Pool of London, helping to preserve parts of the existing site but also attracting people and new investment to the area. During the project, they have designed two new structures that have a primary focus on using low-carbon materials, green roofs and innovative engineering solutions to provide value.

The team have used AccuCities 3D model of London sample to position their design into the real-world model of their site.

“AccuCities supported our University project by providing an existing 3D CAD model of the Pool of London.” says Samuel. “Their models are of excellent quality and easy to manipulate to ones need. I would highly recommend AccuCities to others looking to enhance and add extra context to their work.”

LSBU Apprenticeships have been working with employers since 1892 to meet their training and educational needs. Today, they have over 3000 apprentices from over 600 businesses.
